Pink Floyd and Beatles readdiction

Some time around First Year I was addicted to Pink Floyd. Not just the Wall and Comfortably songs, but stuff that most people have never bothered to listen to on their albums. Somehow that addiction wore off and I was hooked to the Beatles. Later that phase too passed.

But now, for some reason I am readdicted to both. Instant Youtube streaming simplifies matters I guess, but I am on a Pink Floyd and Beatles frenzy. Perhaps it is the Pink Floyd t-shirt that Aditi and Debu gifted me just as i was about to leave for Atlanta, perhaps because a friend I made deep into my final days in India is also addicted to both and our conversations now always touch upon both topics. Perhaps both. Or simply because I really understand what those sounds and words really mean or how they relate to my life.

Whatever the reason is, Let it Be.

    Amen to that! 😀

  2. Seriously ya. I like some of floyd’s not-so-famous songs much better than the now commercialised stuff. You know, songs like fearless, a pillow of winds, stay and all that.

And Beatles just doesn’t grow old ya. It’s new and different every time you hear them. I’m currently re-addicted to Strawberry fields forever.

You are right. Ever heard Pigs on the Wing. Don’t know how famous it is, but its Floyd’s tribute to Animal Farm. Actually the entire album Animals is I think.

    Time is timeless!

  4. I know! Animals is another great album.
Pigs on the wing( 1 and 2!) is an evidence of how one minute of music and one verse can totally change your mood and take you to the mellow place you couldn’t find before.
    Love the lyrics.

Time is up on my desk!
“Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain. You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today” is my motto for the next 3 years 🙂
